The Pequot Lakes Patriots boys' golf team has a good chance to claim a third straight Mid-State Conference title this spring with five of their top six golfers returning.

"We're looking forward to the opportunity to put up some good team scores and be competitive come section time," said Steve Stoxen, who begins his 34th season as coach. "We definitely have some veteran players like Tyler Seeling, Henry Neva and Luke Tangen."

Letterwinners include: seniors Ben Golden and Tangen; juniors Brodie Olson, Neva and Brendan Brill; sophomores Hunter Nybakken and Quady Bernu; and freshman Seeling.

Others who could contribute are juniors Joey Dotty and freshman Isaac Seeker.

Last year as a sophomore, Neva finished 34th overall at the Section 8-2A meet. Olson and graduate John Marchwick also competed for the Patriots at sections. Olson tied for 38th overall while Marchwick tied for 46th. Detroit Lakes captured the section team title.

Assistant coaches are Bob Fischer and Tyler Gonnion.
