Crosswoods Men's League

Jerry Bourassa was player of the day in Crosswoods Men's League action June 3 with a low net round of 55. Bourassa had the individual low net on the back nine with 23, and Dan Davis on the front nine with 32. Game of the day was "1-2-3 variable best ball."

Placing first were the teams of Larry Koenig, Al Olson, Ken Olsen and Randy Kraft on the front nine and Pat Arens, Bourassa, Doug Steck and Chet Herrboldt on the back nine.

Second-place teams were Roger Weiss, Dale Erickson, Gene Guthmueller and Don Rother on the front nine, and Ray Elie, Jerry Martin, Davis and Loyal Meech on the back nine.

David Barnes and Ed Kellogg were closest to the pin. Arens and Ernie Byerly had the longest putts. Lyle Monson and Martin had chip-ins for birdies.


New members are welcome at 8 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Crosswoods Women's Leagues

The Crosswoods Women's League hosted 27 members and friends June 4 for the annual spring luncheon and scramble, with the team of Tracy Nelson, Helen Blatz, Vickie Nygaard and Nancy Barnes placing first.

Second place went to the team of Sue Mitsch, Carol Coult, Rose Ann Stans and Karen Appel. Judy Hine had the longest drive and Coult had the longest putt.

New members are always welcome for both the 9- and 18-hole leagues. Call Crosswoods for information at 218-692-4653.

18-Hole League

Game of the day Monday, June 9, was "team low net." Judy Hein, Ardis Thompson, Renee Aden and Roseann Stans were first with 289. Vicki Nygaard, Georgi Ashlin and Michele Kohler were second with 292.

Sue Mitsch had the low net with 64. Georgi Ashlin had a birdie, and Michele Kohler had a chip-in.


Whitefish Men's League

Tom McGrath, Jack Heidman, Jim Devinck and Duane Ambuehl won the June 3 "two best ball net" event during the Whitefish Men's League.

Finishing second was Larry Dahl, Mike Finley, John Rathman and Joe Fetter. Paul Schmidt, Tom Baker, Dale Frandsen and Jim McKeehen placed third.

Jim Rauenhorst and March Pechauer made the longest putts and Max Martz and Dick Femrite hit the closest approaches.

Whitefish Women 9-Hole

Barb Wetter and Linda Carpenter tied for first with net scores of 33 in Whitefish Women's 9-Hole League action June 4. Game of the day was "low net."

Delores Rubald was second with a net score of 34; and Susan Swanson was third with 35. Mary Scarborough won low putts.

Black Bear Women's League

Carol Lovro shot a 27 to win the gross score minus putts events during the Black Bear 9-Hole Women's League.

Cathy Switajewski placed second. Eileen Springer had two chip-ins, and Lovro had the low putts with 15.

Emily Greens

League results for the week of June 2:

Tuesday Morning Men's League, 8:30 a.m.

First, Cy Kruse, Tom Corkle, Bob Elliott and Bill Wroblewski; second, Jerry Hagel, Dick Hubbard, Tom Walker and Don Atwater; third, Tim Donnay, Pete Ziegler, Bruce Nelson and Larry.

Elliott and Gary Nelson were closest to the pin. Gene Jensen had the longest putt. Bruce Nelson, Donnay and Sid Hughes had chip-ins. Kruse had an eagle.

Tuesday Morning Back 9 League, 10:30 a.m.

First, Gary Nelson, Mike Oelrich, Dave Schwarze and Larry Wickstrom; second, Jerry Hagel, Pete Ziegler, Elmer Johnson and Charlie Peterson; third, Don Atwater, Tim Donnay, Al Schewe and Pat O'Conner.

Wednesday Night Women's League

Play of the day was "predict your score." Winners were Cheri Luc, Joann Walker, Mary Schreier, Charly Richters, Mikie Walker, Lynda Halstensen, Eileen Jensen and Carol Germann.

Luc and Jensen had chip-ins.

Thursday Morning Women's League, 9 a.m.

Play of the day was "first on the green on #3." Winners were Eileen Jensen, Carol Lieske, Carol Germann and Karla Blevins.

Grand View Lodge Outing

Ellen Ogg, Julie Hofius and Marian Duffy shot a 37 to win the scramble event June 3 during the Grand View Lodge Women's Outing.

Sue House, Pat Larson, Linda Gronholz and Nancy Ehlenfeldt placed second. Carrie Spitzak, Naomi Brockhoff, Doreen Robideau and Stephanie Murray finished third.

House and Barb Elmquist sank the longest putts and Elmquist was the winner of the golf lesson.

The Pink Links for Cancer golf event is June 17. The next women's outing will be at 5:30 p.m. June 24 at the Pines.

Hole in one

Sue Marsolais aced the 119-yard second hole on the Traditional Course at Breezy Point Resort using a 7-wood for her first hole in one.
