Girls basketball: Tigers lose championship game - Rainwater makes all-tournament team

Gabby Rainwater tossed in 15 points and Alyssa Semmler added 10 for the Pine River-Backus Tigers who lost 61-41 to the Royalton Royals in the championship game of the Fornshell Classic on Friday, Dec. 22.

Gabby Rainwater tossed in 15 points and Alyssa Semmler added 10 for the Pine River-Backus Tigers who lost 61-41 to the Royalton Royals in the championship game of the Fornshell Classic on Friday, Dec. 22.

Rainwater was named to the all-tournament team.

Tigers 80, Huskies 59

Four Tigers reached double figures, led by Bailey Wynn's 31 points, for Pine River-Backus, which defeated the Isle Huskies 80-59 in the Fornshell Classic on Thursday, Dec. 21.

Wynn also picked eight steals and Rainwater contributed 23 points and 12 rebounds. Rylie Hirschey added 11 points and Olivia Adkins finished with 10 for a PR-B that won its sixth straight game.

Tigers 77, Trojans 48

Rainwater tossed in 20 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for the Pine River-Backus Tigers in a 77-48 non-conference win over the Sebeka Trojans on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Wynn tallied a team-high 22 points and dished off eight assists for the Tigers. Hirschey and Emma Barchus also reached doubles figures with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
