Girls Basketball: Patriots have 2, Tigers 3 on all-area team

Local teams were well represented on the Brainerd Dispatch All-Area Girls’ Basketball Team, as both the Patriots and the Tigers had two representatives on the first team, while the Tigers added another on the second team.

Maci Martini, Pequot Lakes

Sophomore, guard

Finished with 359 points (17.1 per game), 105 rebounds (5.0 per game), 48 assists (2.3 per game) and 57 steals. She shot 45% (118-262) from the field, 40% (45-113) from 3-point and 78% (78-100) from the free throw line.

Kelsi Martini, Pequot Lakes

Freshman, guard

FInished with 274 points (13.0 per game), 64 rebounds (3.0 per game), 59 assists (2.8 per game) and 59 steals. She shot 47% (81-172) from the field, 40% (21-53) from 3-point and 84% (91-108) from the free throw line.

Rylie Hirschey, Pine River-Backus

Senior, guard

Finished with 388 points (19.4 per game), 78 rebounds (3.9 per game), 82 assists (4.1 per game), 60 steals and three blocked shots. She shot 36% (133-361) from the field, 29% (59-205) from 3-point and 69% (63-92) from the free throw line.

Ramsey Tulenchik, Pine River-Backus

Sophomore, center

Finished with 383 points (19.1 per game), 171 rebounds (8.6 per game), 41 assists (2.0 per game), 52 steals and 17 blocked shots. She shot 52% (146-251) from the field and 51% (91-177) from the free throw line.

All-Area Second Team

Olivia Adkins, Pine River-Backus

Senior, guard

Finished with 229 points (11.4 per game), 81 rebounds (4.0 per game), 59 assists (3.0 per game), 62 steals and two blocked shots. She shot 35% (74-228) from the field, 27% (33-123) from 3-point and 73% (38-52) from the free throw line.
