Girls Basketball: 12th ranked Pine River-Backus Tigers coast to 85-46 win

Pine River-Backus’ Jamie Johnson recorded 25 points for Class A’s 12th-ranked and unbeaten Tigers as they defeated the Kelliher-Northome Mustangs 85-46 in a Northwoods Conference girls’ basketball game.

Rylie Hirschey and Ramsey Tulenchik each contributed 24 points for the Tigers, who led 49-21 at the half. PR-B, which improved to 4-0 in the conference and 5-0 overall, is scheduled to host Browerville-Eagle Valley Thursday, Feb. 4.

On Tuesday, Jan. 26, Rylie Hirschey scored a team-high 22 points as Pine River-Backus defeated Class A’s 11th-ranked Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves in a Northwoods Conference game.

Olivia Adkins added 13 points for the Tigers, who led 45-25 at intermission.
