Grant Loge finished 12-of-18 passing for 171 yards and two touchdowns but it wasn’t enough as the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels topped the Pequot Lakes Patriots 20-18 Friday, Sept. 10.
The Patriots went into halftime down 12-0, giving up a 68-yard touchdown shortly before the break. They then scored three touchdowns in the second half.
“I’m very proud,” coach Bill Magnuson said. “When they popped the one (touchdown) right before the half, we could have folded right there but we didn’t … We find a way to score and kids are funny in how they can start believing after that.”
However, the team failed to capitalize on all three two-point conversion attempts.
“All those two-point conversions were big and we didn’t get them, but I’m proud,” Magnuson said. “When we go look at the film, it is going to come down to six or seven plays.”

Loge hit Riggs Magnuson on a 29-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. In the fourth, he then found Darby Boelter on an 11-yard score.
Clay Wolf added the other Patriots score on a 9-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Rebels rushed the ball 55 times for 247 yards.
“I thought we grew up tonight and were better (than the week before),” Magnuson said. “Can we grow again? … It’s now how you start the race. It’s going to be how you finish.”
