Football: Patriots honored at year-end banquet

Pequot Lakes football players and their families gathered at the school on Sunday, Nov. 21, for the Patriots’ year-end banquet.

The Patriots finished the season with a 1-8 record, falling to Aitkin in the opening round of the postseason.

Cullen Kratochvil was named the team’s receiver of the year, on top of being the team’s sole all-district honoree. Clay Wolf was an all-district honorable mention, and was named co-linebacker of the year with Colten Cain.

The most improved player awards went to Jaiden Biley on offense and Emmett Johnson on defense.

Eli Jorgens was named defensive lineman of the year, while Leo Bolz-Andolshek earned the same award on the offensive side.

Caden Nelson was named offensive back of the year, while defensive back of the year honors went to both Darby Boelter and Ryan Harmala.

Additionally, Harmala was the recipient of the Patriot Football, and Tommy Blomer was named special teams player of the year.

The Team also had 11 members on the all-district academic team.
