Nine local football players - six from Pequot Lakes and three from Pine River-Backus - were honored by the Brainerd Dispatch as members of the All-Area Football Team.
The Patriots finished the truncated season with an overall record of 4-3, culminating with a loss to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the Section 8-3A Championship game.
The Tigers’ season was more significantly shortened, with the season’s late start and abrupt end bookending a two-week pause in early November. Despite this, the Tigers managed to finish 2-1 and ended with a victory over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley.

Bode Magnuson, Pequot Lakes senior, QB/DB
Completed 90-of-171 passes for 975 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes. He rushed for 571 yards on 102 carries for a 5.6 average and four touchdowns. Finished as the Pequot Lakes career scoring leader with 228 points. He finished with 23 solo tackles and two interceptions.
Alex Morgan, Pequot Lakes senior, WB/LB
Finished with 24 receptions for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Finished with 32 solo tackles and 19 assists.
Carter Sjoblad, Pequot Lakes senior, RB/DB
Finished with 330 rushing yards on 72 carries for a 4.58 average. He finished with three receptions for 16 yards. He finished with 28 solo tackles, 12 assists and five interceptions. Selected as All-Red District and All-Red District Defensive Back of the Year.
Ryan Monahan, Pequot lakes senior, WR/DB
Finished with 16 receptions for 302 yards and five touchdowns. He returned a kickoff for a touchdown. He finished with seven solo tackles and four assists. Selected as Midwest Red District Receiver of the Year.

Hunter Nybakken, Pequot Lakes senior, TE/LB
Finished with seven catches for 60 yards and one touchdown. He finished with 20 solo tackles, 17 assists, four tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles. Selected Midwest Red All-District.
Tyler Hidde, Pequot Lakes senior, OT/DT
Blocked for a team that compiled 2,158 total yards. Finished with four solo tackles, four assists, four tackles for loss and two sacks.
Connor Tulenchik, Pine River-Backus junior, RB/LB
Finished with 317 rushing yards on 42 rushes for seven touchdowns. He finished with six receptions for 140 receiving yards. He finished with 15 solo tackles, 26 assist tackles, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown.

Corbin Knapp, Pine River-Backus sophomore, OT/DT
Finished with 12 solo tackles, 26 assists tackles, two fumble recoveries and two tackles for loss.
Rian Stuss, Pine River-Backus sophomore, TE/DT
Finished with five receptions for 42 yards and one touchdown. He finished with six solo tackles, 10 assist tackles and 0.5 sacks.
