Flyers spike Patriots 3-1 on Monday

The visiting Pequot Lakes volleyball team was defeated by the Little Falls Flyers 25-23, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-15 in non-conference action on Monday, Sept. 15.

The Patriots, 4-4 overall, were scheduled to face Sebeka on Tuesday, Sept. 16, and then play at Staples-Motley on Thursday, Sept. 18.

Laura Fregin tallied nine kills and teammate Kendra Pohlman had eight for the Flyers. Morgan Lohmiller had seven kills, eight digs and 13 set assists and Laura Squires added 25 digs, seven kills and four set assists for the Patriots.

On Thursday, Sept. 11, Pequot Lakes was swept by Wadena-Deer Creek 26-24, 25-15 and 25-22 in the Mid-State Conference opener.

Casey Volkmann posted 11 kills, eight blocks, eight digs, six ace serves and five set assists helping the Wolverines, who improved to 6-0.

Amanda Nies and Squires each had 10 digs and Josie Florell had 11 set assists for the Patriots.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Bzdok led Pequot Lakes with 15 kills, 13 digs and eight ace serves in 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-10 non-conference victory over the Pioneers.

Lohmiller added seven ace serves and 15 set assists for the Patriots.
