The Pequot Lakes Patriots baseball team fell to the host St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders 6-1 in a non-conference game on Monday, May 16, at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud.
Camren Dehler went 2-for-3 and pitched a complete-game win for Cathedral, the defending Class AA state champions. Dehler gave up three hits, no earned runs, three walks and struck out four for the Crusaders, who improved to 10-6 overall. Zach Sufka went 3-for-3 with one RBI and Quinton Young went 2-for-3 with one RBI for Cathedral.
The Patriots, 7-7 overall, were scheduled to play Osakis on Tuesday, May 17, before hosting Aitkin on Monday, May 23.
Wadena-DC 3, Patriots 1
On Thursday, May 12, Pequot Lakes was edged on the road against Wadena-Deer Creek in a non-conference game.

W-DC pitcher Jake Dykhoff struck out 13, walked four and scattered three hits over seven innings. The sophomore also added an inside-the park home run that drove in all three W-DC runs.

Patriots sweep Rangers
On Tuesday, May 10, Pequot Lakes swept a Mid-State Conference doubleheader against the visiting Crosby-Ironton Rangers by scores of 10-4 and 21-2.
In the opener, the Patriots trailed 2-0 before scoring four times in the second inning. C-I tied it, but Pequot Lakes regained the lead in the fourth on a sacrifice fly and Ethan Lehman's two-run double with two outs. The Patriots added two more runs in the fifth on Chad Christianson's two-run single.
Lehman, Casey Welsh and Deven Psyck were all 2-2 for the Patriots while Christianson was the winning pitcher.

In the second game, Jared Sewall was 3-4 with a homer and five RBI while Anthony Tizzano was the winning pitcher.
Pequot Lakes scored 11 times in the first inning, highlighted by 10 walks, two errors and Christianson's two-run single. The Patriots added nine more runs in the second inning behind six walks and Sewall's double and triple. Pequot Lakes final run came in the fourth inning on Sewall's long home run.
"Jared really hit the ball well, but it was almost embarrassing with all the free passes (walks) we received today," said Pequot Lakes coach Jon Kotaska.
