The Crosslake-Nisswa Junior Legion team captured the championship in the 2017 Jim McLaughlin Invitational Tournament at Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo June 9-11 finishing with a 3-1 record.
The Patriots defeated teams from Fargo (9-8), Brookings, S.D. (8-5), and Manitoba (4-0). They suffered a 5-3 loss to Moorhead in their second game.
The team selected Cam Anderson as the team's MVP as he pitched 11 innings in the tournament, had eight strikeouts and three walks.
The Patriots were led by Sam Pfeiffer with seven hits for the weekend, Dylin Ackerman had six hits and three RBIs, and Marcus Klein had five hits and four RBIs.
