The Crosslake/Fifty Lakes American Legion baseball season ended with a 4-3 loss in eight innings at Aitkin in the subdistrict playoffs on Tuesday, July 15.
Aitkin advances in the playoffs while Crosslake/FL finishes 1-6 overall.
Crosslake/FL led 2-0 after the first inning before Aitkin rallied with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Crosslake/FL tied it 3-3 in the seventh to force extra innings, but Aitkin triumphed with a run in the bottom of the eighth.
Losing pitcher Aspen Florey went all eight innings, allowing eight hits, no walks and striking out four. Florey was also 2-4 hitting. Other top hitters for Crosslake/FL were Gavin Bickford, 2-2 with two walks and two runs scored; Kody Kettleson, 2-4 with 2 RBI; and Hunter Leslie, 1-3 with an RBI. Jared Sewell and Justin Olson also had hits in the loss.
