The Pine River-Backus Tigers boys’ golf team will have a young lineup this spring, but does return letterwinners in Brady Bristow and Joe Zaczkowski.

Others who could contribute this spring for PR-B are Isiah Aulie and Ethan Burns.

“We are looking forward to this season after losing last year (to COVID-19),” said PR-B head coach Steve Heslop, who has coached 23 seasons of high school golf. “We are young, but it’s going to be fun to play again.”

One former PR-B player who graduated, and missed last season, is Brady Raph. As a junior, Raph finished tied for seventh overall at the 2019 Class A state meet. He likely would have improved on that finish if last year’s state tournament would have been played.

PR-B is scheduled to open the season Friday, April 16, at Detroit Lakes. The Section 6A meet will be June 1-2 in Perham.
