Pequot Lakes’ Sam Rysavy was the top scorer as the top-seeded Patriot boys’ basketball team used a big second half to overwhelm Two Harbors 74-44 in the Section 7-2A quarterfinals Friday, March 19.
The 6-foot-6-inch junior tallied a game-high 18 points, including a big two-handed dunk in the first half - as Pequot Lakes outscored their opponent by nearly 20 points in the final 20 minutes.
Alex Morgan added 16 points, Bode Magnuson finished with 15 and Eli Laposky had nine as the Patriots won their 17th game of the shortened season and moved on to face Esko in the section semifinals Tuesday, March 23.
