Boys Basketball: 3 Warriors lead all-area team

With an electrifying style of play, the Brainerd Warriors entertained crowds and earned a 15-win season helping them land three players on this year's Brainerd Dispatch All-Area team.

Crosby-Ironton, Pequot Lakes Pierz and Pine River-Backus all secured two spots on the all-area team.

Players for the all-area team are nominated by their coaches and then selected by the Dispatch Sports Department.

Joey Sauer, Brainerd

Senior, forward

Finished with 496 points (18.4 per game), 285 rebounds, 84 assists, 66 steals and 18 blocked shots. He shot 51.8 percent (197-380) from the field, 36.3 percent (56-160) from 3-point and 69.8 percent (44-63) from the line.
