Fifth-graders earn two firsts, one second

The Pequot Lakes fifth grade boys' basketball traveling team picked up two tournament victories and one runner-up title in February. On Saturday, Feb. 2, they played in Park Rapids and earned first place by beating Park Rapids, Leech Lakers and Staples-Motley. On Sunday, Feb. 10, they played in the Buffalo tourney, where they beat Buffalo, Chanhassen, and Chaska to earn first place. On Saturday, Feb. 16, they played their last tournament of the season in Pierz, where they took second place by beating Royalton and Rush City, then losing to Holdingford in the championship game.
