Boys Basketball: JV Patriots split final games
The Pequot Lakes JV boys' basketball team split a pair of home games this past week to finish its season with a 21-5 overall record.
On Tuesday, Feb. 27, the squad hosted the Tigers from Pine River-Backus and came away with a convincing 66-24 victory. All 11 players saw significant action in this game as the Patriots led from start to finish. Bode Magnuson led in the scoring column with 21 points, and Dylan Collins netted 16, including four 3-pointers.
In the final game of the season on Friday, March 2, the Patriots lost to Perham 42-36. After trailing by 22 points at halftime, Pequot Lakes mounted a spirited second-half comeback - cutting the deficit down to two points several times with minutes to go - but were unable to complete the comeback. Magnuson led the team in the scoring column with 19 points.
