Boys basketball: Tigers fall to Red Lake
Nick Ackerman tossed in a game-high 30 points, grabbed nine rebounds and either led the team or tied for the lead in all statistical categories for the Pine River-Backus Tigers boys basketball team who lost 88-80 to the Red Lake Warriors in a Northland Conference game Friday, Feb. 9.
Brady Raph added 25 points for the Tigers. Torry Hirschey finished with 13 points, six assists and three blocked shots for a PR-B team that was outrebounded 47-30 and committed 15 fouls.
It was the second loss of the season for PR-B to Red Lake, which beat the Tigers 77-76 in overtime Jan. 12.
