The Nisswa Lightning's 2019 season came to an end at the state tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24, in Maple Lake with a 2-0 loss to the Cologne Hollanders.

Despite striking out seven batters and allowing just three hits in 6.1 innings on the mound, Nisswa pitcher Nate DeChaine was on the wrong side of a pitcher's duel, as Cologne's Christian Johnson allowed just one hit - an infield single by Tory Miller - and struck out eight for a complete-game shutout.

Jason Roepke pitched in relief for DeChaine, allowing three hits and striking out two.

The Lightning finish the season with an overall record of 15-4.
