Justin Dykhoff ripped a home run and drove in three runs for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines who handed the Pequot Lakes Patriots their first loss of the season 8-0 in a non-conference baseball game on Monday, May 14.

Noah Ross went 3-4 for W-DC, which has won 12 in a row and is 13-1. The Patriots, who are scheduled to play a doubleheader at Pillager on Friday, May 18, drop to 11-1 overall.

Jake Dykhoff pitched a complete-game shutout for the Wolverines. He struck out 12, didn't walk a batter and allowed just four hits. Zach Sjoblad contributed a double for the Patriots.

Patriots 13, Ely 6

In a non-conference game on Friday, May 11, Deven Psyck had a big day at the plate to lead Pequot Lakes to a win over the Ely Timberwolves.

Psyck went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and five runs batted in. Chase Larson added two hits and Sam Pfeiffer tripled as the Patriots outhit the visitors 8-5. They capitalized on six Ely errors to score several of their runs.

Zach Sjoblad was the starting and winning pitcher, while Cameron Anderson pitched the final four frames to get the save.

Patriots sweep Rangers

On Tuesday, May 8, Austin Meister and Marcus Klein each notched victories on the mound for the Patriots as they defeated Crosby-Ironton 6-1 and 13-3 in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader.

Meister struck out seven in the first game, and helped his cause at the plate with a triple. Psyck finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Klein struck out two batters in four innings in the nightcap. Pfeifer, Psyck, Larson and Dylan Mesenbrink each tallied two hits.
