First-year swimmers for the Dolphin team are Laxen, Boyda and Glazier. Laxen competed in the Boys 12U group swimming the 50 free, 100 free and 50 breaststroke as individual events for the sectional meet. His 200 and 400 free relays qualified for the state meet, in which they placed fifth for the 200 free relay and first for the 400 free relay with a time of 4:45.26.

Boyda competed in the Girls 8U group. She swam 25 free, 50 free and 25 backstroke as individual events for the sectional meet. Her 100 free relay continued on to the state meet and placed ninth. Her highlight of the season was to be the anchor of the relay at the state meet.

Glazier, competing in the 8U for the boys group, swam 25 free, 50 free and 25 backstroke as individual events for the sectional meet. He continued to the state meet in the 100 and 200 free relays, placing seventh in the 100 free relay and ninth in the 200 free relay.

Returning Dolphin swimmers include Hannah Tatge (now a Forestview Middle School student in Baxter), Parker Tatge, Gustafson, Balmer and Hennies.

Hannah Tatge has now completed her seventh season swimming and is in the Girls12U group. She swam 50 fly, 50 back and 200 free at state as well as two relays. Her personal best event at state was the 200 free in which she took third. She has qualified for 10 individual events for Regions but is focusing on her 200 and 500 free.

Parker Tatge completed his fourth year on the swim team and is in the Boys 10U group. He enjoys the breaststroke and would swim it all the time if he could. He qualified for state in the 50 back, 50 fly, 50 breast and two relays. He took eighth in the breaststroke, ninth in the fly and his relays took third and seventh.

Gustafson completed her third year on the swim team and moved up from the Girls 8U group to the Girls 10U group. This is a significant level change for the swimmers as the distances they have to swim get longer. She swam the 100 individual medley, 50 breaststroke, 100 freestyle for her individual events and breaststroke in the 100 medley relay and 200 free relay. The 100 IM is her favorite event and she posted a time of 1:44.56.

Balmer completed her third year on the swim team and is still in the Girls 8U group. She finished first in state in the 25 freestyle and second in the 50 freestyle. Throughout the season she qualified for five individual events for the regional meet. Balmer was on an 8U girls relay that broke the Dolphin record with a time of 2:44.64 for the 200 free relay. Also representing the relay were Mya Tautges, Libby Lake and Peyton LeMieur.

This is also Hennies' third year on the swim team. She swam for the Girls 8U group focusing on 25 backstroke, 25 breaststroke, 25 free and 50 free. At the sectional meet she placed second in the 25 backstroke to allow her to swim an individual event at the state meet. At the state meet Hennies placed third in the 25-yard backstroke with a time of 21.38 seconds to qualify her for the regional meet.

The regional swim meet will be at the University of Minnesota on March 27-28.
