Amateur Baseball: Lightning split region games

The Nisswa Lightning won one of two games in the Region 8C Tournament in Pierz over the weekend, but still have a shot at the State Class C Tournament.

The team started with a 13-7 victory over the St. Stephens Steves on Saturday, Aug. 8.

The following day, they fell to the Buckman Billygoats 10-5.

Moving to the elimination bracket, the Lightning will now face Fort Ripley at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 to stay alive.
