Pequot Lakes freshman Calia Chaney finished sixth in 1:08.24 to help the Brainerd/Pequot Lakes Warriors girls’ alpine skiing team win their Section 5 races Monday, March 1, at Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls.
Lauren Kalenberg finished second for Brainerd/PL, which finished with 167 points while Minnetonka was second with 152. The Warriors advance to the state meet Wednesday, March 10, at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
The Brainerd/PL boys also finished first, and advanced to state. The Warrior boys finished with 169 team points ahead of runner-up Minnetonka who tallied 162.

Chaney 5th at Mt. Ski Gull
On Friday, Feb. 26, Chaney finished fifth to help the Warriors defeat Lakes Area 70-24 at Mount Ski Gull in Lake Shore. Lauren Kalenberg turned in the fastest times for the girls on both runs while Chaney had a combined time of 50.27.
