The Pequot Lakes Patriots baseball team improved to 4-3 overall with a non-conference doubleheader sweep over the Hibbing Bluejackets on Friday, May 3.

The Patriots took advantage of three errors to win the opener 5-3. Sam Pfeiffer went 2-4 with two RBI while Austin Meister was the winning pitcher, striking out six in seven innings.

The Patriots won the nightcap 6-3 as Dylin Ackerman and Marcus Klein each had three hits while Ackerman also drove in two runs.

Pequot Lakes is scheduled to host Wadena-Deer Creek at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9.

Patriots 21, Northland 3

On Thursday, May 2, Meister finished 3-5, including a triple, and drove in three runs to lead Pequot Lakes to a non-conference win over Hill City-Northland.

Klein went 2-4 with two doubles and three RBIs and Grant Kotaska added a double for the Patriots. Winning pitcher Dylan Messenbrink struck out eight and allowed two hits.
