Just as it seemed the spring season was set to begin, another five inches of snow fell on the lakes area.

Some of the Pequot Lakes teams managed to get outside on Monday, April 15, but soggy fields relegated athletes to the blacktop in most cases. Otherwise teams were forced back indoors for practice and training.

All sporting events for Pequot Lakes and Pine River-Backus were postponed or cancelled last week and early this week. The Patriot boys golf team was scheduled for a meet at Cragun's Legacy Courses Wednesday and Thursday, April 17-18, while the girls host a meet at Crosswoods Golf Course Thursday. Both the baseball and softball are scheduled for away games that same day.

PR-B has postponed Thursday's softball game and golf invitationals, but the track team is scheduled to travel to Pillager and the baseball team to Hill City.
