Mudgett named MVP at team banquet

The Patriots hosted its team banquet at the end of the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 5, where Mudgett was named most valuable player.

The junior finished the season with a 21-6 record, primarily playing No. 2 singles.

"Her competitiveness, her determination to get every ball and her ability to angle her shots all work in her favor and have earned the admiration of her teammates, which is probably part of why they named her our team's most valuable player," Sergent said.

Mudgett also earned all-conference honors, as did Alexis Lueck, who earned the Patriot Award at the banquet.

Boller, who finished with a regular season record of 24-3, earned an all-conference honorable mention and was named co-most improved player - and award she shared with Madeline Sherman.

Afton Crocker earned the Patriots' "hardest worker" award.

"Our goal this year was to try our best at every practice and every meet, and believe that we would come out just fine," Sergent said. "It was also to improve each day on the court. I feel that we met these goals."
