After the success of the Breezy Point Airport's first fly-in last spring, the event has expanded to become Aviation Days and will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will feature dozens of planes on display, a classic car show with more than 60 vehicles and a static display of city emergency vehicles and a medi-vac helicopter.

Officials predict nearly 1,000 people to be in attendance, as well as more than 60 cars in the car show and dozens of planes.

A $500 prize will be awarded to the best-looking car and the best-looking plane, voted on by a few members of the airport board of directors.

The event coincides with the annual customer appreciation pig roast at Commander. Hot dogs and brats will be served at the airport at no charge, but donations will be accepted.
