Nearly 900 people have been arrested during protests against the Line 3 oil pipeline, which is being built in northern Minnesota. Most were cited with misdemeanors, but many have been charged with gross misdemeanors or felony charges. The number of legal cases is straining resources in the northern Minnesota counties where most of the protests took place. In addition to waiting for months for a public defender, some defendants also argue that the charges they're facing are unfairly severe.
Six of the seven area counties had a least a little growth ranging from 1.4% to 5.8% in the last decade.

According to data collected by the Minnesota Department of Health, 67.6% of Crow Wing’s residents age 65 and older received at least one dose of vaccine, also representing two-thirds of the 14,102 vaccine recipients thus far in the county.

Five more hospitalizations were reported among Crow Wing County residents between Friday and Monday, Nov. 30, representing a slowdown in the rate of hospitalizations compared to recent weeks.
The deaths of five more regional residents were among the 39 reported by the state Thursday, two-thirds of which occurred in rural Minnesota.
