To all who worked or visited Pine River during the 36th annual Pine River Summerfest, a hearty thank you from the Pine River Chamber of Commerce!
What started out as a mere sidewalk sale in 1978 is now a time where multiple organizations, businesses and individuals do their part to make this a memorable time for so many, both resident and visitor! Indeed, people now schedule their vacation time around Summerfest!
As executive director of the Pine River Chamber of Commerce, I want to relay the board of directors' and my appreciation for all the time and effort expended in this year's event!
Groups and individuals who held events or activities this year include the Pine River Art Club, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pine River Library, Good Samaritan Society of Pine River, Pastor Tim Walker, Prairie Fire Children's Theater, Pine River Softball Association, Pine River United Methodist Church, Pine River State Bank, Pine River Riding Stable, Pine River Fire Department, Ole & Lena's Sweet Revenge, First Lutheran Church, Pine River Swimming Beach Improvement Committee, Pine River Farmer's Market and the Pine River Lions Club.
Individually we would like to thank the following committee members and others who helped with organizing the events: Diane Johnson, arts/crafts and displays on the sidewalk; Quinn Swanson, swimming beach dedication; Sean Kaneski and his crew for the 5K Fun Run; Janice Gardiner, Pine River Flea Market; Muriel Erickson, Pine River Library Book Sale; Lynn Hunt, assisting at the parade lineup; and members of the Miss Pine River Royalty Court for doing a tremendous job selling Summerfest buttons!

Plus the outstanding group of volunteers who helped out at the Pine River Information Center all weekend, including Loyd and Vicky Brogger and Carol Oehler.
Businesses that helped sponsor events included Schrupp Excavating, Echo Publishing, Happy Dancing Turtle and the Pine River Dairy Queen along with the Pine River Chamber of Commerce Summerfest Committee.
As anyone can see, this would not be a task for one person or one organization. There would not be enough time or money for all these events to occur in a four-day period without that kind of dedication and participation!
If I missed anyone in this note, I apologize, but know that your efforts were truly appreciated by all!
