My mom sent me the clippings from Travis Grimler's article, "Firefighters get an education battling Oregon terrain," from the Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, Echo Journal.
I have lived in Oregon for the past 20 years and was born and raised til 18 years old in Pequot Lakes.
I want to tell you thank you for writing the article.
In the past, August is a high month for fires and this year there was a point where I could not see my neighbors' houses across the street or across the field due to the amount of smoke in the air. We had emergency plans updated and bags packed in case we needed to evacuate.
So very thankful to the Crosslake firefighters for their service and community for sharing their special members.
