Letter to the Editor: Recycle the plastics you use

If we recycle, it goes to a factory that can reuse it into different plastics. One example is if I recycle one plastic water bottle, it can be part of a milk jug.

I think we are ruining the world because we are throwing away plastics instead of recycling. When we don't recycle the plastics, they end up in the ocean and hurt the environment.

One thing that we can help with is to recycle. If we recycle, it goes to a factory that can reuse it into different plastics. One example is if I recycle one plastic water bottle, it can be part of a milk jug.

Another way to help with the plastic problem is to bring your own bags to the grocery stores. If you bring your own bags, that reduces the plastic bags that end up in the oceans. In fact, the state of California has banned the use of plastic bags for this reason.

Also you could have your own metal straw instead of using a plastic straw.

I understand that recycling can be a lot harder. It takes more effort to sort your garbage and rinse it out. Also, it takes time out of your day to bring it to the dumpsters if your garbage man doesn't pick up plastics.
