Over the past several weeks, myself and others on the Lakes Bluegrass Festival Committee have received many questions as to whether the festival is going to happen as scheduled for Aug. 26-30, 2020. This will be the first festival at our new location, The Lakes Music and Events Park, one mile north of Pine River.
There have also been rumors that the festival had been canceled. Those rumors are absolutely false. In an effort to set the record straight, I sent a news release to the Echo Journal last week; unfortunately, it was poorly worded on my part and the headline ended up stating that the festival is on hold, which is also false.
The festival is not canceled and the festival is not on hold.
In fact, with the recent announcement that outdoor entertainment venues, such as sporting events, concerts and theaters may open at 25% capacity, it is near certainty that we will be able to have the event as we are nowhere near capacity on our new 25+ acre site.
We have an awesome lineup and we hope folks will come out and listen to some great music and have a fun time at this family-friendly event. And, we will adhere to all Centers for Disease Control and state mitigation rules in place at the time.

We are still seeking sponsors if you are interested in helping support this event. The festival is owned and operated by the Pine River Area Foundation, a 501©(3) nonprofit corporation. For more information and for the latest updates, please go to www.lakesbluegrassfestival.com.
