BIR, Pine River bluegrass festival, county fairs, Minnesota State Fair - all have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but yet the Jenkins City Council has approved Shiners, a local bar, to hold a two-day car/bike event with overnight camping Aug. 21-22.
This is very irresponsible behavior for Mayor Jon Lubke, Donna Stricker, mayor pro tem, and the city council.
I guess they are willing to risk exposure to our community for a $50 event fee. Apparently, responsibility deficit disorder is a real thing.
