Rick Blake, who has many friends in the Echo Journal readership area, was honored by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities with the Jack Murray Award for Distinguished Rural Leadership. A big deal, as they say.

How do I know this? The Crosby-Ironton Courier told me in a lengthy and informative article with a photo (Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022-Vol. 110 No. 35, page 8).

A lot of what Rick Blake has done has benefited our community. I hope the Echo Journal can catch up.

Editor's Note: The Echo Journal did not publish news of this award because Blake earned the award as a city council member in Grand Rapids, which is not in the Echo Journal coverage area. He is running for House District 6A, which includes parts of the Echo Journal coverage area.
