Letter to the editor: Senators reveal their true nature

On Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, our two senators revealed their true nature by not allowing a vote on Senate Bill 311, known as the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

The bill does not change the current law regarding abortions in anyway but merely says that if an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, that infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States and entitled to all protections of such laws. It means if an abortion results in a living baby, the mother or doctor has no right to kill that infant.

The reason this bill is needed is a result of the actions taken by New York and Virginia to allow the mother and doctor to make a decision to kill the baby. In short they wanted to give the right to the mother to commit murder or if you prefer infanticide with no consequences.

Our two senators from Minnesota, which has a history of being a Christian state, now believe that infanticide is acceptable.

Oh, they will try and nuance their vote, but this is a black and white issue. There is no gray. You either believe you should protect that infant, or you don't. In this case their vote was to not provide protections to the infant and allow infanticide.

I pray everyone sees this issue clearly. Beyond all the other issues relating to Sen. Klobuchar and how she treats people, this is the one that should disqualify her from even running for president.

She is willing to protect those entering our country illegally but will not protect these infants. We clearly know where her heart and belief systems are, at the gates of hell.
