Members of the Pine River-Backus Booster Club, Inc. would like to thank all who took part in our first-ever fundraising raffle. The drawing was held Dec. 23 at Pine River-Backus High School.

The prize winners were: first, Ice Castle Fish House, Brad Cardini of Breezy Point; second, Eskimo 10-inch auger, Steve Sether of Pine River; third, Mr. Buddy heater/rod combo, Beth Theis of Champlin; and fourth, $50 cash, Lori Adkins of Pine River.

Special thanks go to our prize donors, Northern Sales and Manufacturing of Pine River, Reeds Sporting Goods in Walker, Backus Lumber and the Corner Store in Backus. With their donations or discount of merchandise, we were able to have a successful raffle.

Thanks also to area merchants for allowing us to sell our raffle tickets at their establishments - Godfrey's, Corner Store, Station 371, Pine River Family Market, Northern Sales and Manufacturing, Pine River Chamber of Commerce, Lakes Area Pharmacy and Bites Restaurant. Their willingness to offer assistance with ticket sales was vital to our ability to sell out of tickets and be profitable.

Finally, this event would not have been successful without our dynamic sales force, which included all of the PR-B Booster Club members, PR-B teachers/coaches, and the aforementioned businesses. This was a great event and be assured the funds will be invested wisely in the academic and athletic endeavors of our students grades K-12 at Pine River-Backus Schools.
