Letters to the Editor: Candidate shares qualifications

Dear voters,

I would like to announce my candidacy for mayor of Pine River. I see the need for change in our community and want to be a part of that change. I have the passion and skills necessary to serve my community.

I will work with the city council to address the issues that concern our citizens, striving to make Pine River the best it can be. If I am elected mayor you can count on the following:

Integrity: I am a woman of honesty and will represent the citizens of Pine River, standing by my principles.

Consistency: I will work to ensure equity and fairness for citizens of Pine River.

Transparency: I will work openly with the city council to ensure that citizens are aware of what they are working on.

Accessibility: I will attend community meetings and events, remaining approachable to the citizens of Pine River.

Advocacy: I will act on behalf of the citizens of Pine River, seeking your input and including you in the process of governance.

During my many years in the workforce, I developed skills that will enhance my ability to serve as mayor of Pine River.

My strengths include:

Communication: I have taken many professional communications classes and am proficient in oral and written communication.

Collaboration: I have worked collaboratively with colleagues and have participated in mediation sessions.

Problem-solving: I have experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Organization: I am organized and use a logical approach.

Management: I have many years of experience in managerial positions, giving me an understanding of how people can best work together, making use of each person's talents.

I look forward to the opportunity to help make Pine River a pleasant place for all. I ask for your support on Nov. 4.
