Letter to the Editor: Pequot Lakes needs dedicated mayor

It takes dedication and strong desire to serve on the Pequot Lakes City Council. Cathy Malecha has both qualities along with proven leadership abilities. She is the best choice for mayor of Pequot Lakes.

It takes dedication and strong desire to serve on the Pequot Lakes City Council. Cathy Malecha has both qualities along with proven leadership abilities. She is the best choice for mayor of Pequot Lakes.

Her opponent was indecisive about even becoming mayor. From the Dispatch Regional Report on Sept. 9: "Mayoral candidate James Tayloe said he decided to stay in the race after learning he'd missed the deadline to remove his name from the ballot."

An opinion letter to the Echo supporting Tayloe stated, "He does not have a personal agenda. ... He is against raising our taxes for said park project ... favors getting a baseball/softball complex ..."

Building ball fields and not supporting the downtown park is a personal agenda. Indecision and wavering are not qualities we need from a mayor serving Pequot Lakes.

We need someone dedicated to stand strong for Pequot Lakes. Cathy Malecha has my support.
