In the race for Minnesota House District 10A representative, the debate hosted by Lakeland PBS unfolded as a face-off of opposing voices.
Candidate for House or Representative Dale Menk came forward as calm, open-minded and willing to listen to all sides through his thoughtful, reflective presentations, and by providing reflective, intelligent answers to the moderator and panelists' questions.
Dale Menk did not come across as closed-minded, overtly opinionated or contrived, nor did he need to apologize for any loss of clear, vocal resonance resulting from participation at any recent Trump rallies.
If he had been, on the other hand, partaking in a raucous crowd chanting Trumpian anthems: "lock her up," "horseface" or cheering in support of criminal assault by body-slamming a reporter, he might, indeed, have gone hoarse.
Hopefully, we in District 10A will be blessed, and Mr. Menk will keep his clear, calm political voice intact, come Nov. 6.
