The Declaration of Independence proclaimed our origin as beings created by God, with rights given by God, as contained the immortal words, “We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men (and women) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Our liberty comes not from us, not from our government, but from the One who made us.
I was watching a show on "Sunday Morning" on July 4, 2021, that featured a commentator speaking about our freedom and how our democracy has survived over the years. It was a decent segment until he labeled the January riots at the Capitol as the worst threat to our democracy since its founding.
He stated the goal of the rioters was to “intimidate and control” the country. It was obvious to me this was another swipe at our previous president and a rather lame attempt to mislead the listeners.
Donald Trump did not want to control the American people; he wanted to control the executive branch of the federal government so the American people could have more freedom from the intimidation and control that is just an integral part of all government bureaucracies .

If ever there was an individual or a group of people who are hell-bent on intimidating and controlling this country, it is the secular-progressive politicians in every level of our government and the like-minded educators who now range from kindergarten to the top level of most colleges and universities.
If you look at some of the main features of the HR-1 Bill passed by the House and which failed in the Senate, it is hard to hide the main purpose of this legislation was an attempt to control the entire electoral process by the federal government. Intimidate and control.
Many of the measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic were necessary and wise; others were somewhat arbitrary and occasionally draconian. Intimidate and control.
ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter - peaceful protests or intimidation and control? Ask the folks in Minneapolis, Seattle and especially Portland.
The Bible states that God made man and woman. Biologists affirmed there are two sexes - male and female. Government politicians, lawyers and others have decided that there are as many genders as you can pull out of a hat.
You wanted government out of your bedroom; they just took over our bathrooms. Intimidate and control.
Defund law enforcement - intimidation and control? As the police departments are physically or politically emasculated, the amount and level of violence and deaths in many cities like Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Paul and others have increased significantly.
It appears we are going to continue to allow criminals to intimidate and control!

The infrastructure bill that has yet to be finalized will likely have additional funds for IRS enforcement. The IRS has been masters of intimidation of the average citizen and occasionally political conservative individuals and groups. But we are all free, aren’t we?
Gender issues are being presented to children too young to absorb the subject matter; college and university campuses are nearly devoid of conservative educators.
Political correctness and so much else are more intimidate and control in sheep’s clothing.
That’s how I see it.
