Letter to the Editor: Santa's Bobbin into Town organizers say thanks

Santa's Bobbin' into Town, an annual event sponsored and organized by Community Action of Pequot Lakes Inc. (a nonprofit organization), was a great success this year! Thanks to the many volunteers, parade participants, businesses, families and community members who attended.

Santa's Bobbin' continues to grow every year, offering activities for the kiddos and an opportunity for families to enjoy the Christmas season with community. The turnout was great.

Community Action thanks all the volunteers, including Jingles and Jangles the Elves, Mrs. Larson's eighth-grade Life Skills class, the Pequot Lakes royalty, the library volunteers, the carolers from Mrs. Jacobson's high school choir, community members who stepped up to help, all the parade participants and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus who took time out of their busy schedules to be in Pequot Lakes!

This year, the parade included six new entries - notably the KIQ Martial Arts kids, Just For Kix dancers and the PTA. Because Community Action of Pequot Lakes works to foster a positive feeling of community, it was especially important for kids to feel a part of their community by being in the parade!

Thanks also to The Treehouse for use of their straw bales at the bonfire, Doug Taylor Action Entertainment for the horse-drawn hay wagon rides, Supervalu for donation of s'mores ingredients, the Hungry Loon for hosting the kids' dinner, Jack Pine Center for providing the photo area for Santa, Cole Memorial Building for the library story time, the city of Pequot and police department, the Color Guard from the American Legion, and the Pequot Lakes Chamber for helping us out.

Everyone working together, for our community, made Santa's Bobbin' into Town good fun and a tradition for years to come!

Next year's Santa's Bobbin' event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10.
