Friends and neighbors,

It's the holiday season and I am so missing my people. It has been a while since I lived at the home I had come to know and love, the Pine River Public Library.

At this time of year the library is decorated with a tree, which I adore. The children are all excited. I miss their exuberance. I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season. I certainly hope that mythical figure, Santa Claus, visits me on the night before Christmas.

The library, incidentally, will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Plenty of time for all of you to get together with family and friends. This is a time of feasting and music and sitting by a warm fire.

I'll be thinking of all of you and I hope you will be thinking of me.

Love and happiness,

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. - Calvin Coolidge
