Cora (Marcum) Filius

Age 72, of Fridley, MN, died Thursday, February 7, 2019. Born August 2, 1946, in Kingsport, TN, to George and Marcella (Dubey) Marcum. She attended Central Lakes Community College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree, and made a lifetime career of serving others. She was a member of FaithPoint Lutheran Church in New Prague, where she enjoyed serving others for many years on the meals team. She also enjoyed participating in the Women's Bible Study. Survivors include daughters Tami (Joe) Simmons, Shari Brown, Kathryn (Brad) Knoer; sisters Loretta Boileau and Frances (Paul) Peterson, sister-in-law Josephine Marcum, eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and treasured cat Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph Marcum, and one grandson. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, at FaithPoint Lutheran Church in New Prague, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Trewartha officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. and service at 11 a.m, followed by a luncheon. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren Bradley Fairley, Perry Schramm, Megan Haynes, Morgan Schramm, Lincoln Schramm, Brianna Brown, Johnathan Knoer, Michael Knoer, and Emily Knoer. Private interment will be in Brainerd. Cora had a love for her church and cats.
