The Pine River Chamber of Commerce was notified that a chamber member recently received a positive COVID-19 test result, and that this person attended an event the chamber sponsored last week.

Anyone who attended the Business After Hours event Thursday, April 1, should be aware that they could be at risk of having been exposed.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is spread mainly between people who are in close contact with one another (defined as less than 6 feet apart for 15 minutes or longer) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

The chamber advises people to take precautions as prescribed by the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health regarding their responsibilities following a possible exposure to this virus.

The Chamber of Commerce Information Center is closed this week out of an abundance of caution.
