The 2020 Falls Prevention Health Fair will be virtual this year with the Falls Prevention Taskforce presenting pertinent information throughout September.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1, a five-week virtual online program will start. Topics will include tips for fall prevention and identification of fall hazards. Focus will be on home safety, balance, medications, physical activity, vision and hearing, as well as winter hazards.

Participants are invited to play a Falls Prevention Bingo game. Every participant returning a bingo card will be eligible for a prize drawing. Find online instructions for the bingo game at the Cass County Live Healthy website: www.co.cass.mn.us/livehealthy/falls_prevention.php.

But prevention is possible. The National Council on Aging, as well as other organizations, shares information on evidence based programs that can reduce risk of a serious fall.
