May 4-8, educators throughout the state participated in a Week of Action aimed at improving unity among educators, students and community prior to contract bargaining. Pine River-Backus and other districts participated Wednesday, May 6, by greeting students as they arrived on school buses. Educators and the statewide teacher union Education Minnesota organized the event as a way to get all of the state celebrating the event in the same way.
