Clouds will be on the increase tonight ahead of the system arriving late Saturday, lasting through Sunday morning before ending. Temps will be warmer tomorrow.
Snow is expected Saturday into Saturday night. For the southern Red River Valley into adjacent areas of west central Minnesota, 1 to 2 inches is expected. Further north, only a dusting of snow is anticipated.
For the arrowhead region, the highest amounts from Hinckley east to Hayward and Phillips. A pocket of lake effect snow may produce high snow amounts from Grand Marais to Grand Portage.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the southern half of Minnesota and western Wisconsin from Saturday into Sunday morning. At least a few inches of snow is expected for much of the region. Higher amounts are more likely in southern Minnesota where an upgrade to Winter Storm Warning may be necessary.
