Severe thunderstorms may ravage Cass and Crow Wing counties between 6 and 9 p.m. today, Monday, July 13, before moving into northwest Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.

The weather service said the best risk is near the Brainerd lakes area, but the risk does extend eastward into northwest Wisconsin though to a lesser degree.

Storms are expected to increase over the evening, posing a risk for large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and flash flooding. The weather service warns power outages, downed trees and property destruction are all possible.
