Warm air advection will boost temperatures today into the upper 40s and lower 50s. The area is under upper level ridging and this should translate to a mostly sunny day. Steep low level lapse rates will allow mixing potential into strong southwesterly low level flow with the potential to mix down 35 knot winds, so a breezy day on tap.

Saturday the Northland is directly under the ridge axis which will help to further kick up temperatures into the mid 50s. A system in central Manitoba will slide a f-gen band near I-falls towards Saturday afternoon giving a chance of rain.

Saturday night through Thursday:

Quiet through the extended with models continuing to trend away from a major mid week system. High confidence in below normal temperatures.
