Snow could be back in the air and even on the ground in the lakes area.

The National Weather Service in Duluth is forecasting an inch or less of snow into Friday morning, Oct. 5, from the Brainerd lakes area to the Twin Ports and along Lake Superior's South Shore.

More snow—perhaps 1 to 2 inches—is expected Thursday night into Friday, mainly from Highway 2 on north, including the Iron Range, Arrowhead and borderland.

Looking ahead, there is a chance for thunderstorms Monday through Tuesday. Heavy rain on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday may cause flooding across parts of the region.

Snow spotters are requested to report their snowfall measurements to the weather service.
